Designed in 1934 by Xavier Pauchard and manufactured by French company Tolix, the Marais A Chair was the original metal café chair. With its galvanized steel design and durability, it became an instant classic. These days MACs are the seat du jour, popping up everywhere (and in every colour) from celebrity chef restaurants á la Mr. Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian to trend-heavy stores such as HomeSense. We love its unique industrial charm and think it would look fabulous mixed in with both classic and contemporary décor.

Some of my favourite childhood memories are of summer vacations spent on the beaches of Cape Cod. The sting of salt water in my eyes, admiring the blue hydrangea on each perfectly manicured cottage and chowing down on fresh fare, picnic style. Bring a touch of beach life into your home with these fun items and have a happy summer!
